Choice between air purifiers - Blueair or Air Lights?

April 6th, 2009 | by admin |

Hi all - I’m looking to buy an air purifier for my bedroom (just over 150 sq.ft.), to help reduce dust, airborne allergens, etc. My mother smokes a lot, which also doesn’t help. Having been diagnosed with a (very) minor, restrictive lung disease, I’d like to start taking better care of my health - especially in regards to respiration. We do have the general air filter attached to the A/C / heating unit, but I would like something more.

Doing some research, I thought I would just get the Sharper Image Ionic Breeze, but have read many terrible things about it - specifically, the ozone produced is VERY bad for your health. Looking around, I found the Blueair 250E Digital Air Purifier (http://www.achooallergy.com/blueair250eairpurifier.asp#product_reviews) and the Air Lights Plasma Air Purifier (http://reviews.ebay.com/Review-of-the-Air-Lights-Plasma-Air-Purifier_W0QQugidZ10000000002480036).

I’m leaning towards the Blueair, but would like others input and suggestions!
