in my feng shui book, it says no ionizer no purifier for the bedroom (and I am assuming this would be the same for the whole house).

the only thing that i can figure is that it sends negatively charged ionized air into the room, so that’s bad chi? or is it because it’s too yang with the motor and blowing air and so forth.

i have an ionizer/air purifier, i spent probably $250 on it and yes it’s in the bedroom. i don’t want to get rid of it, can i use it in any other room of the house? or should i really get rid of it? or was my book wrong about that?

i don’t need it for smoke or anything severe. but i live in a construction zone right now so it helps alot. i’ll be moving in two months and not in a construction zone, so i don’t anticipate really needing it, but it is soothing to sleep with the white noise and the air is fresher.

Please don’t tell me to get a sharper image one. people who own those are bound to have really bad lungs and can lead to cancer. They emit alot of ozone. How do i avoid those ionizers? Which one should i get?

What air purifiers work best? What over the counter drugs work best? Should I get an inhaler for my cough? Is there an over the counter one? Does vacuuming my room regularly really matter? Any other tips?

I just moved into an apartment and the guy above me smokes, which he totally has the right to do, but it makes my entire bedroom smell so bad. What can I use in there to help, hopefully something I can put in there all the time, not just like a candle that has to be watched so it doesn’t catch on fire, I also do NOT have the money for an air purifier, so any other solutions would be great.

I just started this new job, more money, close to my home, just all around better, but I have one small problem. My boss’s wife comes in and smokes in the building upstairs and it filters through the entire building a/c system almost daily. It smells so awful, and I’m sneezing, coughing, my face is breaking out, and I know I can’t complain cause I’ve heard she was a witch. I don’t want to make a big deal out of it, but I wonder if there is some kind of way I can get her to go outside or something. I thought about getting one of those air purifiers, but I noticed that’s not good for smoke. I don’t want to quit either, what do you suggest I do?

Ok since I’m getting mixed reviews here, what are ways I can have clean smelling air around me, since I have to be there 8 hours a day? I don’t care who smokes, just give me freedom

The infomercial only mentions the filter that the consumer takes out and rinses out but they don’t tell you about a carbon filter that has to be replaced periodically, depending upon the amount of usage and dust and other impurities removed from the air.
The cost of that unmentioned filter is $49.99 + tax shipping handling unless you have a local Oreck dealer that you can go to and make the purchase.
There is also a special cleanser to use when you rinse out the filter that they say only needs to be rinsed with water to clean it.
This cleanser can be purchase along with the unit or separately for $14.99 + tax + shipping handling unless you have an Oreck dealer near you that you can go to and make the purchase.
Even with these hidden future costs the unit seems worth purchasing.
Anyone have any first hand experience with using and maintaining one of these units?

step daughter brought home a 6 mos. puppy that got pregnant about a week later. so she is about 7.5 months now. the pups should come in about a week and half. How will I know when she is in labor? I don’t want to take unneeded days off from work. so how can i be sure that she is in labor. what do i need for her and for the pups when they arrive? right now i have her set upl in her own room with food, water several blankets and a matress on the floor. there is an air purifier in the room and the house is warm. what else do i need? she is australlian shepherd and the pups will be mixed with blue heeler

We are moving to apartment from house and my wife used to cook outside because she doesn’t like to cause odor around the house from cooking as we don’t have a good suction on our range-top exhaust fan.
Does anyone know if Ionic Air Purifier will help prevent odor from cooking? especially in apartment without many windows.
Suggestion on type or brand will be appreciated.

The problem is when you cook various type of foods, the smell will build up in the area as well as carpet and sometime get into the bedroom as well causing all the clothing smell.
thanks for the idea of baking soda but i’m lazzy to keep pouring baking soda and fac it.
So I prefer use something electronic and leave it there all the time.
